Ceredigion Motorhome Stopover Trial
Latest information received from Ceredigion Council
On a trial basis, Ceredigion Council made arrangements to allow overnight night sleeping in vehicles coming under the definition of a ‘caravanette’ i.e. vehicles which have been constructed or adapted for sleeping in, at two designated car parks.
The two car parks that were designated as part of the trial are New Promenade Car Park, Aberystwyth and Quay Street Car Park, Cardigan. Signs at these two car parks were amended to reflect the trial. No other car parks were subject to the trial.
This trial provision was subject to the vehicles complying with all other terms and conditions including, but not limited to, payment of the parking fee for caravanettes, parking within marked bays and not causing an obstruction.
The trial will end on 30th September 2020 and the car parks will revert to their normal regulations - no overnight sleeping will be allowed.
The Council will be reviewing the trial in 2021 but as yet no date for the review has been set.
