We understood that Malvern Hills District Council had introduced a new Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) that permitted motorhomes to park, and stay overnight, at two car parks in the district.
It was thought that motorhomes could now stay overnight in Upton upon Severn at the Hanley Road Car Park, and in Malvern at the Priory Road South Car Park. The Council's Street Scene Manager told us that, for the moment, the same tariff and parking regulations that apply to cars would apply to motorhomes, meaning that the charge for any period between 4 and 24 hours would be £3, and there would be no limit on the number of consecutive 24 hour periods.
The new TRO did still include a clause prohibiting 'sleeping, camping and cooking' but we were assured that this would only be invoked in the case of anyone 'setting up camp' rather than just 'parking'.
Unfortunately, due to a change of management, it seems that the relaxed approach to overnight sleeping may no longer be taken. We have revised our listing for these locations accordingly.
