Book review

Motorhomes - The Illustrated History

This is a fascinating book and will be of interest not only to die hard fans of classic motorhomes, but also to anyone with an interest in the background history of our chosen leisure vehicles.

It starts with the early 1900s and covers the development of the motorhome right up to 2002.

One of the great pioneers of motorhome production, Eccles Motor Caravans, has a chapter to itself. Other chapters are Pioneers 1900 - 1940; Growing Popularity 1950 - 1970; The Boom Years 1970 - 1975; Status and Sophistication 1975 on.

The book has many original photographs, most in colour, and excerpts from manufacturers sales brochures and gives interesting insights into the evolution and relationships of the companies and the vehicles they produced.
