The 'Quirky Britain' series continues, the idea is to suggest some curious

trams, and includes tram museums and working examples.

Practical
Motorhome - June - £3.40
Practical Travel starts off the magazine this month with a trip to Dorset.
In the Practical Community section we have a collection of readers letters
& emails, with responses, plus the monthly diaries from the 'reader
team'.
Practical Travel also includes a news and information section, a look at
'small sites' which includes the British CS & CL 5 van sites, plus a
brief introduction to European stopovers and wild camping.
The magazine has a 'wildlife' theme this month, with 'Readers Travels' articles
on wild camping in Galway and Connemara; whale and dolphin watching on the
Moray Firth; the Black Forest and Bavarian Alps. A 'Seasonal spotlight'
feature lists a season by season selection of places to see 'nature at its
best' in the UK. The 'Snail Trail' updates continue, this month it's Northumbria
and Kent.
Diamond Dave's 'Practical Workshop' has technical tips and projects, and
the DIY Surgery has answers to readers' queries.
Also in the section there's a comparative report on small inverters.
Next is a main feature on Power. Sadly the writer serves only to confuse
what should be a relatively simple concept by using the nonexistent units
of 'wattage per hour' and 'watts per day'. There is no such thing!
What is probably meant is 'watt-hours'. A watt-hour is simply how many watts
times how many hours that is used for. This is what most people mean when
they say "watts per day". If a light uses 10 watts, and it is
on for 9 hours, that is 90 watt-hours. Similarly if a generator supplies
1600 watts for 2.5 hours, that is 4000 watt-hours.
There's what looks like a new regular feature on refurbishing a cheap used
camper.
'Practical Buying & Owning ' brings motorhome tests, reviews and news
together and includes a review of the Lunar Roadstar 900 and the Autocruise
Tempo.
This month's live-in test is on the TEC Freetec 718Ti, and the 'Big Group
Test' is on rear lounge budget vans: Elddis Autoquest 140; Lunar Moonstar
580; Swift Sundance 590RL.
'Secondhand Review' looks at a couple of secondhand vans for around £10,000:
Autohomes Avalon and Auto-Sleeper Trooper.
A new 'Sovereign Awards' starts this month, this time on secondhand motorhomes
and supplying dealers. You can provide your feedback to the magazine on
the form provided or through their website (see below).
A couple of readers report on previous vans they've owned.
'Running Report' features the latest happenings to the staff Bürstner
Argos A 747 G.
