(Review date Easter 2009)

Lydford Caravan and Camping Park is a very attractive site set right on the western edge of the Dartmoor National Park.

Formerly leased to the Camping and Caravanning Club, the site is now run on behalf of the owner by Steve and Christine Denyer, who have been the managers there for several years.

We visited in April 2009, just after the site opened for Easter, and found it an ideal base for visits to Dartmoor and the local area. The site was immaculate and Steve and Christine very welcoming and helpful.

Lydford CampsiteThere are three main areas to the site, the central field is mainly flat, with a majority of hard standing pitches, the bottom field is is part sloping and mainly grass, with a few hard standings at the top. Work was going on to establish more hard standings in this field at the time of our stay. The top field is also partly sloping and is all grass. There are spectacular views across the valley to the moor from the top of the field.
